We were a legacy account from a previous hosting company acquired by Earthlink. Things were fine for years, then apparently a server(s) were hacked including our site. We received notification from Earthlink as to the possible presence of malware inserted into our site (it was a non-specific notification which lead us to believe it was a widespread attack) and asking us to check our site. Our webmaster did and in fact found some inserted files and removed them, I so notified Earthlink. We then received notification that we must provide proof to Earthlink (it was a Wednesday, I believe) that our site was disinfected or it would be taken down on Monday. We provided proof on Friday and never the less our site was taken down on Sunday. On Monday I attempted to contact them and for most of the following week attempted to provide the proof they requested and asked that they bring our site (and email!) back on line. The only response I received was advising us to reconstruct our site in another language (I am not internet savvy) and my webmaster told me it would be easier to move to another host, and we did so after being offline and without email for almost two weeks. I notified them we were moving; this was almost a year ago-----Lisa, stop calling to collect on this account---you guys dropped us, and we notified you we were leaving!!!!!
